Happy Spring Everyone!
Your Chapter Board has been busy in the first quarter of the year; having completed our Board transitions, Strategic Planning for the year, and hosting three well-received Chapter meetings so far. Add in the PDD planning, PMP Prep classes and upcoming events and you can see that our Chapter remains vibrant and strong!
Some highlights from the Board transitions and Strategic Planning meeting included moving the Marketing area from the VP of Technology area to the VP of Outreach, and moving the Newsletter and Social Media positions into the Membership area.
I would like to take a moment to thank Suzanne Jones for all of her great volunteer work on the Newsletter program. It is through volunteers like Suzanne that the Chapter is able to stay at the forefront of Project Management in the Madison / South Central WI region.
The Professional Development Day team is gearing up for the event on May 14, with both Keynote and Breakout Speakers identified and contracted at this point. The presentation from our Keynote Speaker this year, Susan Packard, promises to get people thinking about how we keep building for success!
Upcoming events include the PMI Region 2 meeting in April, in Sioux Falls, SD. These regional meetings give Board members an opportunity to share knowledge with other Chapters and to discuss strategies on how to bring more value to our members.
A couple of other changes you will see later this year include adding a couple more PDU earning opportunities over the summer, and providing more flexibility to members by scheduling two smaller Mallards game outings this year rather than just one larger event.
As always, feel free to reach out to anyone on the Board if you have any questions, or are interested in participating. Serving on the Board is a great opportunity to work on your skills, to network, and to give back to the profession.
Have a great Spring!
