Empowering Project Managers: A Commitment to Lifelong Learning
Fostering Professional Development and Lifelong Learning with PMI Madison/South Central Wisconsin
At PMI Madison/South Central Wisconsin, we believe that continuous learning is at the core of professional success. Whether you are just beginning your project management journey or are a seasoned professional, we are dedicated to providing the tools, resources, and opportunities to help you grow. As part of our 2025 strategic focus on fostering professional development and lifelong learning, we offer multiple avenues for skill enhancement, career advancement, and knowledge sharing.
Chapter Meetings and Learning Sessions
Our chapter meetings are more than just networking events—they are learning experiences designed to keep you ahead of the curve in the ever-evolving field of project management. Each session features industry experts, thought leaders, and engaging discussions on relevant topics, ensuring you walk away with valuable insights and practical takeaways.
With a commitment to delivering at least 10 high-quality professional development events in 2025, we strive to create learning opportunities that address diverse member needs and help your earn PDUs. Whether you are looking to deepen your technical expertise, enhance your leadership skills, or explore emerging trends, our chapter meetings provide a dynamic platform for professional growth.
Mentoring Program
Mentorship is a powerful tool for career growth and skill development. Our chapter’s mentoring program connects experienced project managers with those seeking guidance, offering a structured framework for knowledge transfer, career advice, and skill enhancement.
This program is designed to benefit both mentors and mentees. Mentees gain insights from seasoned professionals, receive career advice, and develop confidence in their project management abilities. Mentors, in turn, refine their leadership and coaching skills while contributing to the growth of the next generation of project managers. By fostering these meaningful connections, we cultivate a strong, supportive professional community.
Engaging in our Mentorship Program is not only a rewarding way to give back and grow professionally—it also qualifies for Professional Development Units (PDUs) toward maintaining your PMI certification. Both mentors and mentees can earn PDUs for their participation, making mentorship an excellent opportunity to develop skills, gain valuable insights, and stay actively involved in the project management community while advancing your professional standing.

PMP Exam Preparation Course
Achieving the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a significant milestone in a project manager’s career. To support our members in reaching this goal, we have reintroduced our PMP Exam Preparation Course. This structured course provides comprehensive coverage of the exam material, practice questions, and expert-led guidance to enhance participants’ readiness for the certification exam.
Our PMP Prep Course is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed. Whether you are preparing for your first certification or looking to refresh your knowledge, this program is a valuable resource to advance your career.
Our Spring PMP Prep Course is underway, but we will be offering another Prep Course this coming fall. Please keep your eyes peeled for more information in the coming months, but should you have any questions regarding pursing certification, we encourage you to take advantage of joining one of our monthly Certification Open Office Hours Sessions.
Annual Professional Development Day (PDD)
Our signature event, the Professional Development Day, is an opportunity for project management professionals to engage in immersive learning experiences, gain fresh perspectives, and expand their professional networks. Featuring a lineup of inspiring keynote speakers, interactive workshops, and breakout sessions, PDD provides attendees with the latest industry insights and practical strategies to apply in their projects.
In 2025, we are dedicated to making our Professional Development Day an even more impactful event, bringing together experts and practitioners to share knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions.
PDD 2025 will be held on October 5. Mark your calendars and stay tuned until this summer when we’ll announce keynote speakers and officially open registration!
