Guest Speaker: Gloria Green

Presentation: Rehash or Slip through the Cracks:  Managing Decisions, Risks, Issues and Change Requests

Join us Thursday, January 19th as we welcome guest speaker Gloria Green to the Holiday Inn East in Madison. Attend this event to earn 1 PDU in Strategic & Business Management.

Chapter meetings are always a great way to earn a minimum of 1 PDU, have some great food, network with others and enjoy a great guest speaker.

Program Objectives

Learn to find the balance in managing risks, issues, decisions and change requests:

  • How project manager’s personality type can impact identification of risks, decisions needing to be made or potential change requests
  • How “Big Rocks” to aid in the identification and resolution of risks, decisions or change requests
  • How Minimum Viable Product helps prioritize your change requests
  • Find the right balance between reviewing all every week, and never finding the time to review.

Practical, “Hands-on” Information

Join us as we explore:

  • Project Manager personality types and their impact on risk identification
  • Using “Big Rocks” to identify and resolve potential risks, issues, decisions and change requests
  • Defining Minimum Viable Product and using that to evaluate change requests
  • Surfacing the procrastination monster
  • Strategies to find the balance between rehashing and slipping through the cracks

Gloria Green, MBA, PMP is currently a Senior Strategic Initiative Program Manager at American Family Insurance, where she facilitates identification and resolution of risks, issues, decisions and change requests. She is responsible for ensuring the $100M+ initiative comes in on-time, on-budget and on-scope. As a Senior Project Manager at Springs Window Fashions, she managed new product development and marketing projects as well as coached product, channel and project managers.

She balances between strategic and tactical; task and people orientation; high level and detailed plans; too little and too much communication; marketing and operations; and no engagement and complete consensus. Deep applied knowledge, savvy analytical skills, knack for opening up communication between departments, and courage to make difficult decisions she is often the go to person.
